TeamSmile is the only national nonprofit that partners oral health professionals with professional sports teams to provide life-changing dental care to underserved children in a fun, high-energy environment. By transforming stadiums and arenas into dental clinics for a day, TeamSmile creates an experience that children are excited to be part of—one where athletes, mascots, music, and games work hand-in-hand with dental professionals to break down fear and build trust. This innovative model not only delivers vital preventive and restorative care, but also connects children to long-term dental homes, reinforcing the message that oral health is a crucial part of overall well-being. Through this unique fusion of sports, community, and healthcare, TeamSmile delivers both smiles and lasting impact.

At TeamSmile, we believe every child deserves a healthy smile—and the confidence that comes with it. We are the nation’s premier advocacy group connecting oral health professionals with professional athletic organizations to provide life-changing dental care to underserved children in communities across the country.

Through our programs, children receive FREE dental screenings, oral health education, and treatment—including cleanings, fillings, and even extractions, all delivered with care, compassion, and a whole lot of fun.

The Impact: By the Numbers

Since our inception in 2007, TeamSmile has:

• Conducted over 350 programs

• Served more than 65,000 children

• Provided over $24 million in free dental care and education

Each program brings together 125–175 volunteers, serves approximately 250 children, and delivers $75,000 to $125,000 in no-cost care to those who need it most.

Our mission doesn’t stop after the event ends. Through the TeamSmile Dental Home Project, powered by Sun Life/DentaQuest, we connect at-risk children to long-term dental care providers in their communities. Whether through Medicaid or pro bono services, almost 6,500 children have been paired with local dentists to ensure continued, preventive care that lasts far beyond the stadium gates.

This long-term vision means our work isn’t just about one day of care—it’s about sustained health and lifelong impact.

Launched in partnership with DentaQuest in 2022, the Dental Home Project ensures that underserved children receive not only free dental care at TeamSmile programs—but are also connected with long-term dental care providers in their communities. These ongoing services are offered at little to no cost, and often completely free, helping children build lasting relationships with trusted providers and achieve better oral health outcomes over time.
